Running through the usual search for movie-related stuff here in Ottawa, I stumbled upon this odd "gem" of journalism on the Ottawa Citizen's site:

Looking through the above list, it's also great seeing a lot of local actors showing up in the cast lists of recent flicks. Random Ottawa movie note: According to Wikipedia, regarding the long-gone cinema the Elgin Theatre, "...in 1947 it was the location of the world premiere of Mary Pickford's Sleep, My Love." Mary Pickford (1892-1979) wasn't featured in Sleep, My Love (1948) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0040798/), she was a co-producer along with third and last hubby Buddy Rogers. That film starred Claudette Colbert (1903-1996) and Don Ameche (1908-1993).
